Developer Gray Area has announced its location-based MMO called Shadow Cities. A player's location determines the battlefield with familiar neighborhoods and locations becoming the center of the game world. Devs have released a trailer to show off the features.

Shadow Cities is a location based MMORPG for iPhone. We are redesigning mobile gaming from the ground up and combining local, location aware, gaming with global web gaming. You can play with your friends wherever you are. Every city on the planet will become part of the game. 

You take a role of inexperienced mage and start exploring your city with new eyes. Once mundane places get a new meaning as you learn their magical properties. Your office building might just be the most important spot in the whole city. As you level up, you get to choose what kind of mage you want to be. Do you help others in their tasks or concentrate on battling with your enemies.
