Jet Set Games has announced the release of Highborn Lite for iPhone and iPod Touch as well as Highborn HD Lite for iPad. Highborn is a terrific real-time strategy game with a snarky, funny story to go with it!

In Highborn, players are treated to two strategy games that combine to offer an intelligent, tactical experience without the frenetic play of a traditional RTS. Players move forces around an overhead map to secure spells and combat support, then dive into 3D combat to deploy those advantages against an unsuspecting enemy. All the fun and fighting is set against an irreverent tale, filled with wacky heroes, witty dialogue and wild assumptions.

Highborn is available for the iPhone and iPod Touch for $.99, and Highborn HD is available for the iPad for $2.99. Jet Set Games is currently working on Highborn Chapter 2 for both the iPhone and iPad, and plans to release the new content via an in-app purchase this fall.

Realtime strategy fans will be happy to hear that Highborn has been released for iPad. Highborn had previously been released for iPhone and iPod Touch and the RTS with a comic twist has garnered very positive reviews for developer Jet Set Games. Once you check out the launch trailer, you'll want to scoot over to iTunes to pick up either Highborn for iPhone/iPod Touch (99¢) or Highborn HD for iPad ($2.99).

JetSet Games has announced that its flagship RTS title, Highborn, has been updated to version 1.1. Included in the iPhone/iPod Touch patch are several fixes and the inclusion of Open Feint for multiplayer action.

Here are the goods:

Highborn's game play has been touted as 'less frenetic'  and brings players from the overhead map when units are placed down to a 3D combat level where the action takes place. Both single and multiplayer experiences are available. Developers have plans to release additional content and an iPad version of the game later this summer.
